Khan Kluay Wood Elephant Sculpture
This wonderful wood elephant is created in Thailand by Jaifah Aksornsri using techniques taught to her by parents. The beautiful statuette is handcrafted from native raintree wood and finished naturally, which accentuates its charming appeal. The name Khan Kluay comes from the main character in a popular family film in Thailand that follows the journey of a young elephant in becoming a war elephant for King Naresuan, who once led the ancient Ayutthaya Kingdom of Northern Thailand.
