Jabu Hand Carved African Sese Wood Mask with Brass Plate
An original design by Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu, the name of this mask comes from the Zulu word for ‘joy,’ jabu. The mask is carved from sese wood, then adorned with brass plate on the forehead and under the eyes. The artisan also paints it with rich black, blue, and red tones to create a bright and eye-catching depiction of jabu.
