Ntoboase I African Wood Mask Carved by Hand with Colorful Beads
From Rita Addo Zakour’s ‘Ntoboase’ series, this original mask represents ‘Patience,’ in the Akan language. The seed-like mask is carved by hand of African sese wood with brass insets on the eyelids and chin. Featuring a slender nose and pouting lips, the mask’s cheeks are decorated with colorful glass beads.
