Kasa Anoma Talking Bird African Mask
The kasa anoma mask is an original design by Ghanaian artisan Sefah Mohammed. Meaning ‘talking bird’ in the Twi dialect of the Akan people, the sese wood mask is adorned with a bird on the forehead, its beak leading on to the nose and opened mouth. Mohammed incorporates embossed aluminum plates on the cheeks and forehead, and completes the mask with yellow, red and black painted details, masterfully creating a weathered illusion.
