Funded: Bonnie Needs Support After Devastating Injury
As rescue teams ventured into the Kherson region of Ukraine shortly after its liberation, they found many animals in dire need of help. Bonnie is one of these. He was found on the side of the road with severe injuries, likely from a car accident. Poor Bonnie had lain there in pain for so long he was immobile. The rescue team immediately transported him to Lviv for medical attention.
Bonnie’s pelvis had been crushed and several vertebrae in his lower back were badly displaced. To address this, surgeons carefully fused his pelvic bones together and employed metal pins to alleviate a hernia compressing his spinal cord. Through these surgeries, Bonnie has embarked on a challenging path of extensive physiotherapy as he learns how to walk again.
Bonnie is on the road to recovery, showing progression with each surgery, but he needs your help to cover his medical care.
Bonnie was luckily rescued, but many pets in Ukraine still desperately need help. Your gift today supports the cost of care for pets like Bonnie, and helps Greater Good Charities provide shelters in Ukraine with much-needed veterinary equipment, heating and electricity. Donate now to support Greater Good Charities’ lifesaving programs. We’re deeply grateful for your kindness.
