Funded: Help Foxes Recover from the Fur Industry
Fur farming is the process of raising and killing animals for their fur. On these farms, animals are subjected to extreme confinement and poor living conditions that affect quality of life. After a fur farm in Romania was shut down, countless foxes were left without a place to go.
The foxes were brought to a rescue group in the area but had already suffered an immense amount of trauma from their time at the farm. They were emaciated and exhausted. Several had been subjected to cannibalism, having been fed carcasses of animals that had already been furred.
Initial treatment was difficult as the foxes tried to injure themselves and each other. However, staff managed to begin to adapt them to their new safe conditions. During this time, all of them were neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites.
While these foxes have made immense progress since their arrival, they still have a distance to go toward health and happiness and need your support to cover their ongoing treatment.Â
These foxes were luckily rescued, but many animals in Ukraine still desperately need help. Your gift today supports the cost of care for animals like them, and helps Greater Good Charities provide shelters in Ukraine with much-needed veterinary equipment, heating and electricity. Donate now to support Greater Good Charities’ lifesaving programs. We’re deeply grateful for your kindness.
