Akan Comb African Comb Mask
Sefah Mohammed carves this intriguing mask above an antique-style comb. Originating from the Ashanti region of Ghana, such combs were used by people long ago. The face of a person is featured, highlighted with embossed aluminum with rich textures. The artisan names this design Afi, which means ‘comb’ in the Twi language.
