Anger Hand Carved Wood Theatrical Mask
Brow creasing into an angered frown, this bondres mask is intended to represent the human element in Balinese drama. Bondres characters appear towards the end of a performance of a dramatic tale. Nyoman Naranata carves the mask by hand from hibiscus wood with an impressive care for detail.
Hibiscus wood exhibits colors ranging from white to light gray, dark gray or even black heartwood. This natural occurrence can rarely be replicated, making each carving exceptionally unique.
