Banku Ta III Hand Crafted Embossed Metal and Wood Mask from Africa
Ghanaian artisan Daniel Quarcoo pays his respects to a culinary staple of his country with this original mask design. He names it banku ta, which refers to the stick used for stirring banku, a starchy West African dish made of fermented maize and cassava meal. The unique wall mask is carved of sese wood and adorned with embossed aluminum motifs and copper discs for the eyes.
