Crowned Princess Sita Artisan Hand-Carved Wooden Princess Sita Mask from Bali
Princess Sita is one of the central characters in the Ramayana, the Hindu epic poem. In the story, Sita is kidnapped by the demon king Ravana before her husband, Prince Rama, rescues her. The poem describes Sita as the ideal wife, a paragon of devotion and courage. By Komang Agus, this mask portrays her in exquisite detail, wearing an ornamental headdress bedecked with flowers. Carved from local crocodile wood, the mask has an agel grass cord at the back to display the image proudly.
