Diamond Style in Black Diamond Motif Cotton Jewelry Roll from Guatemala
Inspired by traditional textiles, the body of this jewelry roll is decorated with black diamond motifs over a off-white body, incorporated by hand with cotton fibers on a traditional loom. Representing local Guatemalan artisans, the Aj Quen Association presents the roll. It opens with a tie closure to a cotton-lined interior with a zipper pocket, an open pocket, and a padded snap roll for rings.
The Aj Quen Association is one of the oldest weaving associations in Guatemala. It was founded as a non-profit development entity in 1989 through the efforts of six different artisan groups from various regions of the country. These groups came together to help preserve their cultural identity and to better market their art.
