Funded – Give Mercury the Chance to Walk Again
Mercury was hit by a car and brought to an emergency veterinary hospital by his owners. His hip was dislocated and the top layers of skin and tissue on his rear legs scraped away. Poor Mercury’s owners weren’t able to afford his care and decided to surrender him to the shelter so he could receive proper treatment.
Mercury’s wounds were immediately surgically debrided. He’s now on daily bandage changes and antibiotics, but will need hip surgery once his skin has healed. It will take up to six additional weeks of rehabilitation at the shelter before Mercury will be ready to find a loving home.
