Funded: Help Creeper Recover After Sudden Paralyzation
UPDATE:Â Thanks to your donations, Creeper was able to live a happy life for several months as she struggled with a heart condition. She had good days and bad. Sadly, she has passed away.Â
Her caretakers are heartbroken but want to thank you for your support to help this sweet feline. Any funds that weren’t used for her medical care will be used to care for other pets.
They wrote, “She may be gone, but her memory and the joy she brought into our lives will live on. Rest in peace, sweet Creeper. You will be missed more than words can express.”
Creeper came to the shelter as a stray in northern Greece. She was thought to be a healthy cat until one morning when she woke up paralyzed from the waist down and was rushed into treatment with labored breathing.
At the clinic, Creeper was diagnosed with heart disease and thromboembolism, a condition that occurs when blood clots obstruct a blood vessel. Her doctor also discovered a pulmonary edema, causing her lungs to fill with liquid. Creeper was in critical condition but still had such a strong spirit and will to survive.Â
Creeper will undergo multiple surgeries to remove her obstruction and drain her lungs. After rehabilitation, Creeper is expected to make a full recovery and will be able to use her legs again, though she will need to take heart medication on a daily basis to remain stable. Will you help Creeper get the treatment she needs to heal fully?
Help Creeper recover after sudden paralyzation!
In late 2023, Greater Good Charities was approached by groups working in the city of Xanthi, Northern Greece, to assist in the support of over 600 pets eking out an existence in and around a municipal rubbish site. Since then, working alongside The Animal Rescue Site and community partners, they have provided food, specialist medical care, funded high quality spay/neuter services and supported foster and adoption for dozens of dogs.
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site are in the process of deepening our commitment to the pets of Xanthi, ensuring every animal has the support it needs. We are also expanding our reach to several new areas in Greece, supporting both cats and dogs in need.
Creeper is just one of many pets we’re helping in Greece, but we can’t cover her ongoing care without your support. Help us meet our goal of $6,000 for Creeper and pets like her. Any funds raised over the goal amount will go to Greater Good Charities’ lifesaving programs.
