Help Americans in Need Feed Their Pets
Help American families feed their companion pets, and help keep pets from being surrendered to shelters.
For so many people and families across the country, times are tough. With the current economic downturn, people are having difficulty feeding themselves let alone their animals, and unable to afford to care for them, surrenders are overwhelming shelters and rescues. Even worse, the Humane Society of the United States estimates that up to 10 million pets could be displaced as people lose their homes.
A food aid program for companion animals is about the entire family—when you help the people, you help their pets, and when you help the pets, you’re helping the family.
You can help make sure companion pets stay in their homes and receive the nutrition they need, and help ease a family’s financial burden until they’re back on their feet. Just $10 supports our GOODS program to help struggling American families provide food for their pets, distributed through our nation’s food banks and pet food banks.
