Help People and Pets Affected by Hurricane Beryl
Crippling Power Outages and Deadly Heat Put Millions of Americans at Risk!
CURRENT RESPONSE: Hurricane Beryl had already wreaked havoc across the Caribbean before making landfall in the Houston, Texas, area, with winds of more than 80 MPH and extensive, life-threatening storm surges.
Communities along the Gulf Coast of Texas and the Caribbean experienced devastating flooding and wind damage. As of July 11, the storm has already taken the lives of 11 people and more than 1.3 million are still without power. With flood waters receding, people and pets in Texas now face deadly, sweltering heat, closed grocery stores, and uninhabitable homes. Animal shelters are struggling to keep pets cool with no power to run their air conditioning. While the storm has passed, the worst is yet to come.
