Janger Beauty Suar Wood Hand Carved Janger Dancer Sculpture
Nyoman Indrawati Subrata of the Subrata Family hand carves this intricate suar wood image of a Janger dancer. In Bali, the Janger is danced by young women and men, a group of ten each, with exaggerated gestures and elaborate costumes. This beautiful carving is rich with exquisite carved details, from the dancer’s headdress and costume to the pedestal which serves as her stage.
The artisan carries on the extraordinary art work of her late father, Nyoman Subrata.
