Worn on a necklace of black cotton cords, the pendant celebrates his unique skill and talent. ‘As a child, I suffered poliomyelitis, which weakened my legs and I can’t go anywhere myself. But I can create something useful and beautiful with my own two hands,’ the artisan says. ‘Every time I look up and see the stars at night, I see there’s hope in the future.’
