Protect & Feed Burma’s Schoolchildren
Help nurture and educate young displaced students.
Refugees and immigrants from Burma face many barriers to access a healthy and bright future, including lack of education, proper housing, access to health care and basic human rights. Children and young adolescents are affected by conflict and poverty, as they lack the opportunity for accessing quality education in their own area of living.
Greater Good Charities has partnered with Mae Tao Clinic to provide education and food to students living in boarding houses. MTC’s Dry Food Program enables children with poor education opportunities to access education along the Thai-Burma border and inside Karen state. Support in the form of monthly dry food rations is given to students living in boarding houses, ensuring them to complete their education and be protected from the risk of child labor or exploitation.Â
The Dry Food Program provides the primary nourishment for approximately 2,100 migrant students via rice, tin fish, oil, yellow beans, salt, and seasoning. Without these essential food donations, many boarding houses would be unable to provide for the children.
You can help. Just $10 provides food for a student for a whole month. You can empower children by providing them the food and education they need to thrive.Â
Greater Good Charities has ultimate authority and discretion with regard to the distribution of its funds. All expenditures made are consistent with the exempt purposes of Greater Good Charities.
