Support Desmond’s Recovery After Traumatic Eye Injury
Desmond was a stray found with several untreated injuries, the worst being a dislodged eye socket. His time on the streets also left him severely malnourished and anxiety-ridden.
At the veterinary hospital, Desmond was given fluids and antibiotics to prevent infection and stabilize his health. When doctors examined the trauma to his eye, they determined the damage was irreversible and the safest form of treatment was to surgically remove his eye.Â
Desmond has already undergone surgery and is in recovery, but the healing process for this type of injury is extensive. He will need mobility and balance training to adapt to his limited field of vision. With intensive treatment and care, he has the chance to be a normal healthy dog, but he needs your support to get there. Will you help Desmond on his journey?
