URGENT: Send Emergency Supplies to Shelters this Kitten Season
URGENT: As many animal shelters face their busiest season, they need YOUR help to medically treat and care for vulnerable newborn kittens. Save lives with your gift.
Every year, approximately 3.4 million cats enter U.S. animal shelters. The largest influx of homeless cats and kittens occurs during spring and summer months in what is called “Kitten Season”.
It starts with just a litter or two and quickly turns into a shelter full of kittens and expectant moms who desperately need foster homes and supplies.Â
Shelters are seeing a decrease in adopters and need our help now more than ever. They are struggling to support an immense intake of kittens with limited supplies, space, and fosters.Â
Kitten season is truly exploding around the nation.
The work to respond to this crisis is overwhelming and costly for already crowded shelters and rescues. Kittens need round-the-clock feeding and care. Expectant moms need a safe place to have their kittens, then at least six weeks of supportive care for their health and well-being, and that of their kittens.
If already born, kittens often come into shelters with upper respiratory issues and other medical needs. The best option for bottle babies and juveniles is to be out of the shelter and cared for in a home, reducing their risk of illness. But even with fosters working nonstop, the need for support has become an emergency!
You can help save defenseless kittens’ lives this kitten season. Your gift can send necessary supplies to animal shelters struggling so that moms and kittens can receive expert care and medical attention. Provide formula, medical supplies and ongoing support to shelters and kittens in need. Donate now.
